THE FIRST OKINAWAN KARATE & KOBUDO EUROPEAN SEMINAR was held on 5 and 6 June 2021. Given the size of the event, and the ongoing pandemic, we have chosen to organize it in the form of a free webinar. The event, which originally was meant to cover only Europe, has grown independently thanks to word of mouth on social networks, and has seen the participation of 273 practitioners from all over the world. Furthermore, despite having already closed the registrations, we have received another 153 new requests to participate.
The seminar took place on the afternoon of Saturday 5 and Sunday 6, and saw the alternation of masters Pavel Demyanov (Goju-ryu Ryusyokai), Emanuel Giordano (Shidokan Shorin-ryu), Christos Papapanos (Mukenkai Shorin-ryu ), Dell Hamby (Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan), Eduardo De Angelis (WUKKO Uechi-ryu) and Santiago Sacaba (Seitokan Shorin-ryu), who taught for one hour each.
The masters of Okinawa Karate Kenkyukai were also joined by two "guest" masters, members of other international organizations: Gustavo Gondra sensei (WUKKO Uechi-ryu and President CNKI), and Luis Lemos sensei (Taishinkan Shorin-ryu and President OKKOA) , both present on the afternoon of Sunday 6.
Given the enormous success, in the future we will try to repeat this great event, improving it in every aspect.
