Good news from Okinawa! A new chapter in the history of the Italian Karate was written. Today, July 11, 2017, was held the second meeting between the Okinawa Dento Karate-do Shinkokai (a group run by the Prefecture and the Governor of Okinawa, whose purpose is preservation as well as spreading the Karate of Okinawa) and Our group (Okinawa Karate Kenkyukai), represented by master Emanuel Giordano.
Like last week's meeting (06/07/2017), also this time it was discussed about a collaboration between our two realities, but while the previous one was present the chairman of the board of director, Kyuna Choko sensei (10 ° day Shorin-ryu) and the chief of the Information Center, Kunio Uehara sensei (8th dan Shorin-ryu), this time other member of the Okinawense group, like Maeshiro Morinobu sensei, were also chairing the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the chief of the Information Center, Kunio Uehara sensei, who served as interpreter during both meetings, said the following words: "We all agree, yours project is a good project, we will support you! " .
Here is a new bridge between Italy and Okinawa! Our is the only Italian group as well as one of the very few realities in the world to collaborate with the Okinawa Prefecture! We recall also that the Okinawa Dento Karate-do Shinkokai is the maximum world authority relating to Karate (being an organ directed by the Governor of Okinawa Prefecture).
As already mentioned in the previous statement, Master Emanuel Giordano is the first Italian to have been invited to a meeting by this institution, and his "diplomatic mission" has been a success, which will benefit all Italian karateka.
This success is a result of passion, sacrifice, commitment and humility!

WHAT IS THE OKINAWA DENTO KARATEDO SHINKOKAI?
The Okinawa Dento Karate-do Shinkokai was born on 14/02/2008 "To plan the conservation, transmission and spread throughout the world of Karatedo, and Kobudo of Okinawa. To make Okinawa not only the birthplace of Karatedo and Kobudo, but also The Mecca for World Karate." (Source: meeting held to found the group). The President is the governor of Okinawa Prefecture, Onaga Takeshi, while the chairman of the board of directors is Kiyuna Choko sensei.
One of the organs of this institution is the Okinawa Karate Information Center, founded on 14/06/2017, and run by Kunio Uehara sensei. This office deals with the relationship between Okinawa Dento Karate-do Shinkokai and other institutions (like ours), and is headquartered at Okinawa Karate Kaikan.
Okinawa Karate Kenkyukai will work as the "bridgehead" of this important Okinawa government institution, continuing to work for the spread and preservation of Okinawa Karate in Italy.
