The 2nd national seminar of Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan and Mukenkai Shorin-ryu was held in Turin and Milan. The seminar was led by Hiroshi Akamine sensei, assisted by Hamby Dell sensei and Sacaba Santiago sensei. On 14 February there was a private seminar for a few members, while the main seminar was always held in Turin on Saturday 15 February. Finally, on February 16, the event moved to Milan, where practitioners were able to try both Akamine sensei's Mukenkai Shorin-ryu and Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan.
The main event was therefore the seminar in Turin, which was limited in number to allow a better quality of training for all participants. This meant that about thirty kobudokas from Piedmont, Lombardy, Liguria, Veneto, Lazio, Campania and South Africa, and belonging to several schools including Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan, Ryukyu Kobudo Ryukonkai and Matayoshi Kobudo, could train together under the expert guide of Akamine sensei.
The event started with a short performance by the group from Veneto, after which it continued with two hours of bo and one of nunchaku. The great attention to detail taught by Akamine sensei, as well as his mastery with weapons, has greatly impressed everyone.
At the end of the event there was also time to ask questions and ask for corrections on the different weapons of the Okinawa Kobudo, after which, the manager of Okinawa Karate Kenkyukai, Emanuel Giordano sensei, awarded Akamine sensei with a merit award, for the commitment and dedication in spreading the Okinawa Kobudo.
